The weather is finally clearing up after a tropical storm we had which made taking pictures impossible so posting something new wasn’t in my cards. But in the mean time I have been working on a ton of new projects that I am excited to share as soon as they are finalized! (more…)
I recently started a new job at a clothing store where I live, Oliver. (They are online so check them out.) This is the best/worst job for me because I’m doing what I love but I end up spending my paychecks before I even get them! This romper is a new arrival we just got in that I was immediately obsessed with. It reminds me of a Missoni pattern but for much less. It also came in the cutest shorts and bikini but I thought it may be over the top to get all three. I love rompers because they are so easy to wear and can be transitioned from day to night with shoes and accessories. I can’t wait to wear it this summer when I’m actually tan (Excuse my pale legs I haven’t had time for a spray tan lately.) But even so I love wearing this little number. The shoes are a new buy as well, with a tan they are some of my favorite shoes.
I recently got a new job at a clothing store. Since I am in there from morning until late afternoon or early night I like to wear clothes that are comfortable but still fashion forward since I am representing the clothing store. I always wear some sort of a heel, it doesn’t matter what the situation you will always catch me in a high heel or a wedge. I have very few flat shoes that I wear. I just got my newest splurge in, my leopard print Valentino rock studs. I know they look like the most uncomfortable shoe with the spiked heel and pointed toe but they are actually quite the opposite. They are the most comfortable heel I own. After getting them in pink a year ago I shortly fell in love and wanted them in every color.
I have finally found the perfect trashed denim shorts! I feel like I have been on the hunt for these forever and never found a pair I loved. Shorts have always fit me weird so I usually don’t wear them at all. But now I will be wearing them all the time! I’ve seen all the hype about One Teaspoon Shorts so I finally gave in and tried them on.
Spring is finally here! And with spring comes prom season. No one likes to look back at old pictures and wonder what the **** they were thinking for wearing that ugly dress. It’s hard picking the perfect dress, when I was in high school it took me months to decide on a prom dress (I don’t want to know how long choosing a wedding dress will take me.) I always hated the idea of prom, it sounded corny to me so instead I would pretend I was going to a red carpet event and pick out what I would wear to that!I was never one for the classic prom dresses so I always looked else where for inspiration and places to get my dress. I love looking at events like the Oscars and Grammys because they are being dressed in this seasons trends from the runway and after designers start making similar dresses at more affordable prices. You have to have some sort of idea of what you like in your head before shopping, otherwise you will get overwhelmed with choices and ideas.
Valentine’s day is approaching and whether you love or loathe the day, here’s a little guide for getting through it and even enjoying it just a little. It is the one day where you can wear as much pink and red as you want without getting looked at twice so that’s always a plus. Here is my little list of ideas to make it extra sweet whether it’s a last minute gift for your girlfriend (hint hint!), a date idea, something to do with your single best friends, or just a treat for yourself (totally okay I do it all the time!)
Last night was the Oscar de la Renta exhibition at the SCAD museum. It was such an amazing event and really did an excellent job show casing some of his greatest accomplishments and moments. I am so glad I got the chance to go and view the exhibit on the opening night. Top names that came to honor Oscar include Anna Wintour, Annette de la Renta, and Andre Leon Talley.
The first half of the week (basically every day before friday) is always such a struggle to get through with so much going on it’s hard to even think about having the time to look your best. I know I’ve been there when the only outfit I want to wear is my pajamas, but the fashionista in me won’t allow it. So you can guess how excited I was when I found this pullover sweatshirt that was comfortable AND chic.
Every girl dreams of living in a stylish apartment like Carrie Bradshaw. Though for many this remains a dream, for Nancy it is a reality. I had the opportunity to sit down with Nancy and find out her inspiration behind her decor and fashion and also add a few new places to shop to my list! Between the Hermes pillow, beautiful original art work, piles of fashion photography books, and the countless pairs of shoes, this home is one out of every girls dreams. I truly love this home and am already taking it as inspiration for my NYC apartment I will be renting in the fall! Surrounding yourself with what you love is so important when trying to get motivated and inspired. Fashion doesn’t have to be restricted to what you wear, it can be a lifestyle.
I am back in Savannah and the weather has been so cold! Guess it’s getting me prepared for New York winters. I recently got this basic equipment top which I absolutely love. It has this really pretty flower appliqué down the arms so it will carry over into Spring. I’ve been wearing it under sweaters with the collar and cuffs out and I’ve also been wearing it under my fur vests.
